The Shibari Experience Weekend is a 3‑day, in‑person journey designed for travelers.
You’ll arrive Friday evening, train through the weekend, and head home Sunday afternoon having built multiple complete rope scenes, with coaching, confidence, and a clear path forward.

Includes: Friday Foundations, 2 full training days, Saturday rope jam, and 12 months of Bound Academy Online ($300 value)

WHAT YOU’LL LEAVE WITH
By Sunday afternoon, you and your partner will:
- Design and run 4 complete rope scenes in different styles (connective, fashion, bedroom, dungeon).
- Have 5-8 go-to ties you can actually remember and reuse.
- Know how to read your partner’s body, manage basic nerves, and keep play safe.
- Walk out with a repeatable blueprint for future scenes, not just memories.
In The Shibari Experience, you'll gain a complete toolkit for working with rope—physically, emotionally, and sensually. You'll learn how to tie with purpose and intention, how to communicate with your partner through every wrap and pull, and how to create rope scenes that feel both safe and electric.
Each class builds on the last, giving you the skills to transition from beginner basics to expressive, intimate, and powerful ties by the end of the day. This isn’t just about technique—it’s about confidence, connection, and crafting your own rope story.
What The Weekend Looks Like
Friday Evening – Learn The Ropes Foundations (5–8pm)
- Learn The Ropes: safety, consent, single column, leg ladders, futomomo, handling.
Saturday 10 AM–1 PM – Connective & Fashion
- Connective ties, fashion harnesses, your first structured scenes with coaching.
Saturday 3–6 PM – Bedroom & Dungeon
- Bedroom rope, dungeon / power‑forward scenes, scene structure and aftercare.
Saturday 8 PM–Late – Rope Jam
- Open practice with your cohort and the Bound community.
Sunday – Depth & Integration (9am–1pm)
- Coached final scenes, feedback, 90‑day plan, done in time to travel home.

- 4 hanks of rope (each 26 to 30 feet in length, approximately 6mm thick)
- Safety shears for emergency cutting and safety protocol

Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need to have taken Learn The Ropes first?
No. Learn The Ropes is included (Friday night + online). If you’re a total beginner, this is how we get you ready. If you have experience, it tightens your foundations.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
All sales for workshops, events, performances, and retreats are final. Due to the significant time, staffing, and planning required to host these experiences, we do not offer refunds for any reason.
You may cancel your reservation up to 7 days in advance to receive a 50% credit to your account, which may be applied to future events.
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event will receive no credit.
Is this a beginner workshop or an advanced one?
This is a beginners workshop or for those with some experience. Even if you have had some formal training, you will gain immense value from the shibari experience. You do not need to be skilled or practiced—just excited to spend a full weekend learning and tying.
What if I already did Learn The Ropes… will this be repetitive?
Not at all, unless you have been staying on top of your basics. If you have already completed LTR with us, you may skip the Friday night if needed, but we recommend that you join anyway as you may pick up something new.
Is this safe if we have injuries, mobility limits, or are plus-size?
Absolutely. Shibari is for all bodies—plus-size, skinny, and everywhere in between.
Please let us know ahead of time if you need ADA accommodations or have mobility limitations.
Rope is highly adaptable, and we focus on:
- Safe body positions
- Communication
- Check-ins
- Modified ties for different bodies and abilities
You will not be pushed into anything unsafe.
What’s the difference between this, Bound Academy, and the Dojo?
Shibari Experience Weekend
A 3 day immersion designed to help you build and run your first full rope scene with coaching. Ideal if you are not local or cannot commit to a long-term program. Also the perfect stepping stone into more advanced training.

Our online platform for ongoing training, recorded content, and virtual community. Learn at your own pace from anywhere.
The Dojo (Bound Studio’s in-person membership)
A multi-month, progressive curriculum that eventually leads into partial and full suspension. This is for local students ready to train consistently and level up in a structured program.
Experience Weekend prepares you for the Dojo and for our weekend immersion workshops such as Flight Path and upcoming Suspension Retreats.
Can I come solo, or do I need a partner?
Either works. Your ticket covers two people:
- Coming with your own partner? Perfect.
- Coming solo? We can pair you with an experienced rope bottom at no extra cost.

What should we bring?
If you already have rope and safety shears, bring them.
